According to an article in New Media Age (2009), Pizza Hut claims that they are on track to become the UK's "ultimate" online restaurant, after Christmas results showed a sales jump of 237%!

Pizza Hut online sales grew at an average of 25% a month in 2008, and now sits alongside Domino's, their main competitor. Pizza Hut has only offered online ordering for just less than 2 years, whereas Domino's have offered it for 5…

Pizza Hut has shifted promotions from direct marketing to online endorsement due to a lack of response on the DM front. This has in turn caused the rise in sales and visitations to the restaurants and the online ordering site, along side a successful email marketing programme. Pizza Hut is also hoping to utilise social networking as they further their online marketing experience.

Having developed both the online ordering website and the email marketing campaign, we at Blue Barracuda are feeling rather chuffed with ourselves. We previously released an "April fools" email campaign, which stated that Pizza Hut delivery men will do more than just deliver; they will clean your house and do your ironing! This email was a great success, with an 89% forwarding rate and driving huge revenues through online sales.
